Spooky season has officially landed in Fortnite, and Epic Games is pulling out all the tricks (and treats) for this year’s Fortnitemares event! As the annual Halloween celebration creeps closer, the game has started teasing some seriously epic crossovers—think Scream, Scooby-Doo, and the mysterious new game R.E.P.O.. Yeah, you read that right—Ghostface might be dropping into the island soon, and we’re here for it.
Fortnite is currently in Chapter 6, Season 4, which has already been packed with wild collabs like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Halo. But Fortnitemares is when things get deliciously dark. It’s the time of year when the battle bus takes a haunted turn and the cosmetics get extra creepy.
Players recently got a taste of what’s coming with the K-pop Demon Hunters update on October 2, but the real chills are expected to kick off with the next big update on October 9. Based on past years, fans can expect spooky new skins, eerie map changes, and maybe even a few haunting in-game surprises.
And don’t worry—this nightmare’s just getting started. Fortnitemares is expected to stick around until November 1, so there’s plenty of time to squad up, unlock those limited-edition items, and celebrate Halloween in Fortnite style.
So grab your pickaxe, queue up your favorite horror emote, and get ready—because when Fortnitemares begins, it’s every ghoul for themselves.
